“Cover up my love”
I said surely
like I know I’m gonna help you
make something better of it.
You think you’ve had enough.
“No one’s ever gonna love you
if you don’t look or think, talk and
wear it like you own it”
“D’you want some good advice?
I could explain to you the world we built,
where you sit,
how it wraps around you.”
“You’d always seemed too nice,
though I could tell that you were never quite the easy fit.”
If you don’t die young
you’ve bailed or you’ve followed.
Too sharp your tongue
and your time expires.
Your wins half won
and your failures demoralising.
Given over to a simpler life.
Left to discuss how close you nearly came,
how right you were though you can’t say why.
And it’s safer to turn and run your little race
than for you to dream your little dream of change
If you don’t try hard
you’re left for another.
Too soft your arms
where your body slips.
For one so calm
your face fails to cover up
the constant dripping
of your sinking ship.
With your head held high
you’ve given up on thinking,
you’ve given up on judging yourself by your old desires.
Short of nothing
and built out of broken parts
so you can’t go back
and you can’t go on.
On and on
And they talk about nothing.
They talk about you
and your eyes roll back in your head.
Seems so lost,
so far short of becoming,
a world much smaller
than the life you led.
Waking up to this liddle tune as the sun streams through the window.....sweet, gentle, chilled, natural, calm, relaxing, peaceful, positive, thought provoking.....and breathe.
So......writing a few words. Well there is a comment box!!! Does anyone read these??
Have you got a thang about long grass?! 😊🌾🍃🌿🌱
I have enjoyed how you pronounce your ‘u’ s for a while now, and this track doesn’t disappoint. Only Yorkshire folk will appreciate it. ‘Up’ lgriffiths

An exquisitely beautiful album with a soft, gentle feel....too many exquisite bits to mention them all, but the brass and strings add such charm! With this wonderful collection of delicate folk/pop tunes comes some bonny artwork, making it a very easy decision to buy it! vicsm
